The Middle Years Journey Book Club pick for September!

When you think of your life today are you fulfilled? Is it everything you wanted and more? Are you doing everything you set out to do? If so, hats off to you my friend!  .I’m the total opposite. Yes, I am thankful for the things that I have; a great family, a steady job, the ability to maintain a household, and wonderful friends.

However, there are many things I want to do and new adventures I want to try. I am constantly trying to find my “mid-life” groove. Once I come up with an idea, there’s the voice in my head that tells me why I can’t do it. Self-sabotage is a real thing, and experiencing it is not something that I can easily admit. Why do we doubt ourselves? Why do we feel as though we aren’t good enough? Why do we let our subconscious get the best of us?

Being a Mom and Wife, you are on auto pilot. While trying to maintain a household, work, and take care of everyone else needs, we tend to just “exist.” We are satisfied with our daily tasks, yet when it comes to our “personal” goals, we can feel as though we are lacking.

So for September, I wanted to find a book that would help me get over this mentality and give me some guidance on how to be the bad ass that I am meant to be!

Jen Sincero is a New York Times best selling author, speaker and success coach. She wrote the book You are a Badass for women like me.  The book is broken down into five easy to read parts. Her chapters discuss procrastination, overcoming fear, gratitude, being present, and loving and accepting yourself.  These are important and relatable topics for women of all ages, but I believe my Midlife friends can definitely benefit from it.

I hope you join me in reading this months selection as we learn more about ourselves.

If you are like me and have a limited schedule, You are a Badass is also on audio, and is narrated by the author Jen Sincero. You can find the book on Amazon or audible.com.

Join me for a video conference on September 30th to discuss what we learned in the book, and more importantly about ourselves!

Don’t forget to subscribe to the blog to receive the latest information about the book club and other happenings!
