The Middle Years Journey Book Club
Summer Reads Series 2018
It’s June and the official first month of Summer! Recently, I signed up for the 2018 Goodreads book challenge. I pledged to read 20 books in 2018. When I don’t have time to read a physical book, I will listen to them on Audible (that still counts!). While doing research I was happy to see more books covering aging and midlife issues, and more up and coming midlife authors! In an effort to complete my challenge, I decided to try something new!
I created the Middle Years Journey Book Club Summer Reads Series. During the next three months, I will recommend 12 books on a variety of topics (Midlife, Fiction, and Non-Fiction) that you may enjoy.
Click on the book cover images below and you will be directed to Amazon. From there, you can read detailed descriptions and order based on your preferences (hardbound, paperback, Kindle, or Audio). If you decide to purchase one of my recommendations, please head over to the Middle Years Journey Facebook page and let me know! We can also discuss the books in the Middle Years Journey Facebook Group.
To kick off my 2018 Summer Reads series, I am hosting a Giveaway! To enter complete the following:

The Middle Years Book Club Summer Reading Series JUNE picks:
Courageous Aging – Dr. Ken Druck. A step by step guide that will lead you to take inventory of your life, and help you reimagine your best future possible
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**** – Mark Manson – The title is brazen, but this is a New York Times bestseller with over 1 Million copies sold. Mark teaches you the “Counterintuitive” approach to living a good life on YOUR TERMS
Better Than Before – Gretchen Ruben – Gretchen talks about making and breaking habits and how this lead her to lead a happier life. Some of the topics she touches on: accountability, scheduling, safeguards, and distractions
The Last Mrs. Parrish – Liv Constantine – This is a juicy psychological thriller. One woman has it all, the other woman wants it all. Who will win in the end? This is a great book for a lazy weekend!
The Woman In The Window – A.J. Finn – Another psychological thriller. This is AJ Finn’s debut novel about child psychologist suffering from agoraphobia who happens to witness a crime. What is a girl to do?

I keep seeing the book “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck” being recommended or people reading it…so despite it’s brazen title, I am sort of intrigued by it. Also I have been recommended the “Woman in the Window” book a couple of times now…I think this will be my next read 😉
let me know how you like them….! Stay tuned for my July selections! Thank you for visiting and commenting!
Thanks for the recommendations, I had been looking for good reads since a long time now.
I would really like to read The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**** by Mark Manson. It’s been all over the web, I would def need to check out what the buzz is about and if it makes an emotional person like me not care about some stuff.
I couldn’t agree with you more! My girlfriend read the first 2 chapters and said they were eye opening… once we finish the book we will be new people! LOL Thank you for visiting and commenting!
I’m so curious about The Woman in the Window. And I love Gretchen Rubin – Better Than Before is good, but I need to read her newest book!
