I thought it would be fun to challenge you to an End of Summer Bingo Game!
I created things that would be simple, fun, and gratifying. In midlife, we realize we’ve taken care of everyone and everything for so many years. Now is the time for us to do what WE want to do. You should not feel at all guilty for treating yourself to a gift, going to a spa day or refusing to cook or clean.
If you are anything like me, you just realized summer is almost over, and you haven’t done much of anything. Beach trip? Mini vacation? Girls trip? Marked something off your bucket list? Yea..Me neither. I remember being in my teens and making plans to do something every weekend. Having something to look forward to not only helps your overall mood but helps maintain your sanity.
Many midlife women are experiencing “empty nest syndrome.” They find it hard to adjust to not having their kids at home or if they are, on a part-time basis. Without having to care for our children, we have an enormous amount of free time on our hands. I took this into consideration when creating the bingo card. My hope is by participating, you will find new ways to fill this void in your life.
Each square on the bingo card represents something you will do for YOURSELF. The tasks are simple and shouldn’t take much of your time to complete. As an incentive to step outside of your box, I am hosting a giveaway! If you get BINGO, send me a screenshot of your card and snap a picture of you completing each task. Email your entry (screenshot of your completed card and photos) to themiddleyearsjourney@gmail.com. For privacy reasons, feel free to omit your face or any identifying information before submitting.
All completed entries will be entered into a random drawing to win your choice of a $20.00 Amazon or $20.00 Etsy gift card! The giveaway will follow the honor system; please be honest with your entries.
Two winners will be selected. The last day to enter will be August 31st, 2019. I’ll announce the winners on the blog and The Middle Years Journey Facebook Page on September 3rd.
Have fun with this! You may learn a little bit about yourself in the process!!
Wow, this sounds like a great little challenge!
Thank you Shari! Let’s have some midlife fun!
Love the “simple tasks” idea of being good to yourself/
Thank you. I really thought about easy tasks that would be fun. I’m working on getting BINGO myself!
Ok the hardest challenge for me would be no social media for one day. I only turn off on holidays…
That’s a hard one for all of us!!! I was able to do it a few times, it wasn’t easy! My Daughter was just on a trip where she had limited reception, she told me she actually liked not being on her phone for two days! That says a lot since she is 19 LOL
Your bingo game caused me to realize that I want to do magic tricks at a childrens’ hospital. The only problem is that I don’t know any magic tricks (but I’ve got google!) This one accomplishment will require a lot of steps. I’ll let you know when I get there. Thanks for the nudge!
So glad I could help inspire you!!! With Google, anything can be accomplished!! Keep me posted!
